Tried to reply to some prior topics but really got no traction with this.
Cap1 is, or has been, widely known to hold their own paper and sue aggressively. There have been multiple threads since about November saying that Midland, and as far as I can tell, only Midland, is back on Cap1 paper and they are the plaintiffs in lawsuits against debtors. This is a major change since post 2008-2009 when Cap1 really stopped selling off to JDBs. Needless to say I am a Cap1 debtor and this is very near and dear to my heart, but it seems like the tides are shifting for Cap1. (One can assume the reason for this is the current economic situation, much as the last time they sold off to JDBs, but that is for another time.)
I am really hoping this thread can become a resource for Cap1 debtors or their representatives so we can get an idea of what is going on with Cap1 and possible strategies going forward.
