Midland funding started trying to collect on a debt. I knew I owed it but with covid I lost my job. Then the job I found after I also lost. Both places closed because of the pandemic. At the time it was me paying what was necessary.
I received a letter from hayt hayt and landau saying basically we are collecting for midland pay this amount by this date. The amount was a bit over $2000. I am financially somewhat stable again so as soon as I was able to pay it, I called the law firm and paid in full. Thinking ok I am done I am good. NOPE! I received a mailing saying that a local attorney wanted to represent me in my lawsuit with hayt Hayt and landua. I searched the pa dockets and there it was. The filed a lawsuit. I haven’t been served but there is a date and time online for it. I have the paper from the law firm with the amount the wanted and the cancelled check copy, and a letter from them stating it was paid. Do I call the law firm and ask why? If I have to go to court will the judge dismiss because it’s paid. I am totally not getting why the lawsuit after it was paid. Any advice would be appreciated greatly.
