Should I send a DV letter in response to this?

Earlier this week I received a letter from an OC which stated they had sold a credit card account to a JDB, and gave the name and address of the JDB.  A few days later, I got a letter from the JDB, informing me that they had purchased the debt from the OC.  The letter was designated "Notice of sale and assignment of account."   And they gave the account a new identification number.

The letter contains this statement: "While this notice is from a debt collector this is not an attempt to collect a debt and is for the sole purpose of notifying you that your account has been purchased and assigned."   In fact, this statement is in all capital letters.

The letter does not contain the usual language that I have 30 days to dispute the debt, etc.  I have never received a letter like this before.  Checking the local court docket, I see that they do file lawsuits.

So, should I send a dispute/DV letter?  My instinct is telling me, no, to wait until they get more aggressive, before I get more aggressive.

But I would like to hear the opinions of others here.  Thanks.
