Notice of Voluntary Dismissal Without Prejudice

Hello,

I have a question for those that can help, I would greatly appreciate it. I recently last year around September 2017 had a cop come to my front door and serve me with a court order to appear in court vs Midland Funding saying I owe them $7,000. This was a old credit card and I didn’t remember racking up those funds and oweing that much. Anyhow, I went to court and someone from Midland spoke to me before we spoke to the judge and tried to scare me, asking if I wanted to settle. I told them no, we will let the judge handle it. We then went up in front of the judge and I asked them to prove I owe them this much money and I want statements. The judge ordered Midland to provide statements for only the last 30 days I had the credit card. They had over 2 months to do this as the new hearing was set for December 2017. They never sent the statements in the mail and the new trial came around. Fast forward to December 5th and I show up to court and Midland does not show up. The judge handed me a paper and said “today is your lucky day” the paper said,

”Notice of Voluntary Dismissal Without Prejudice”

So does this mean I won? Problem is, I never sent anything to the credit card bureaus, nor did I send it to Midland. I figured Midland would receive it in the mail themselves the copy of the paper.

The collection is still on my credit and Midland is still sending my mail telling me I owe them this amount. What do I do here? Do I call Midland and send them this paper? Do I dispute this with the credit bureaus?

Thank you!
