I submitted dispute to CRA for item on credit report. Stated that it was too old to collect on. Received documents from Cavalry stating the following:
Per your request, find enclosed the verification of your debt. Your account is now subject to resumption of collection efforts. Says I can contact them and so on. Then at bottom says:
The law limits how long you can be sued on a debt. Because of the age of your debt, we will not sue you for it. If you do pay the debt, they will continue to report it to credit reporting agencies.
They sent two copies of bills, but address for first one is my current location which is incorrect. Then for the second one, its the old address but I didn't live there then. I have copies of my credit reports running back to at least 2007, so I have record of it and the dates. This item should be coming off by November of this year.
Do I do anything or just ignore it?
